- It is not a medical device — never use it to diagnose, treat, or make any clinical decision.
- Always confirm every reading with a separate, validated method (such as a manual goniometer) before relying on it.
- The developer accepts no liability for use of, or reliance on, the app or its measurements.
1. Educational purposes only — not a medical device
GonioPlus is an educational joint angle estimator and range-of-motion measurement aid, provided for education, training, and general reference purposes only. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, monitor, or prevent any condition, nor to guide clinical decisions. Every reading is an estimate produced by phone sensors and must always be confirmed using a separate, validated method — such as a manual goniometer — together with professional judgement before it is relied upon for any purpose.
2. Eligibility
GonioPlus is intended for use by qualified healthcare professionals, and by students using it under appropriate supervision. You must be at least 18 years old to use the app. By using GonioPlus you confirm that you meet these requirements.
3. Intended use & confirming measurements
GonioPlus is intended only as a supplementary measurement aid for trained clinicians and for educational use — never as a standalone or definitive measurement tool. Phone-sensor measurement has inherent accuracy limits and may be affected by device placement, calibration, and movement, so readings can be inaccurate. You must independently verify every measurement against a separate, validated method before acting on it, and you are solely responsible for interpreting all readings and for any decisions made using them.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to: reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, modify, or tamper with the app; attempt to circumvent or defeat any security or technical limitation; use the app for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it; or use the app to take measurements on any person without their knowledge and consent.
5. Your data
All measurements, client details, and reports you enter are stored only on this device. Nothing is collected or transmitted by the app. When you export or share a PDF report, that information leaves the device under your control — you are responsible for handling it in line with any privacy or health-data obligations that apply to you (for example the UK GDPR or HIPAA). 6. Client information & consent
If you record client or other third-party information in the app, you are responsible for obtaining any necessary consent and for handling that information lawfully and in line with the professional obligations and data-protection laws that apply to you, including the UK GDPR. How information is used, shared, or exported after it leaves the device is your responsibility.
7. Intellectual property & licence
GonioPlus and all related content, design, and trademarks are owned by the developer and protected by intellectual-property laws. You are granted a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for its intended purpose. You may not copy, distribute, sublicense, or create derivative works from the app except as permitted by law.
8. No warranty
GonioPlus is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that measurements are accurate, complete, or suitable for any clinical purpose.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developers of GonioPlus are not liable for any loss, injury, or damages arising from use of, or reliance on, the app or its measurements. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
10. Clinical responsibility, serious outcomes & legal proceedings
GonioPlus does not provide medical advice and must never be the sole basis for any clinical decision. You remain solely responsible for all assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and client-safety decisions, and for the wellbeing of any person assessed. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer accepts no responsibility for any clinical outcome — including any injury or death — arising from use of, or reliance on, the app or its measurements. The app's measurements are not validated for, and must not be relied upon as evidence in, any legal, regulatory, disciplinary, insurance, inquest, or coroner's proceedings; responsibility for any such reliance rests entirely with you.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes are reflected by the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of GonioPlus after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes relating to them or to the app are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
13. App Store
GonioPlus is distributed through the Apple App Store. These Terms are between you and the developer only, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, have the right to enforce them against you. You must also comply with the Apple App Store Terms of Service.
